Christmas with Jake and Claire

Mimi and Bill and I had lunch with twins and parents at their house over the weekend before Christmas. Bill fixed a leaky faucet while I was entertained by Jake and Claire.
Twins examine their Christmas tree.
Jake showed off his improved walking skills.

After a lunch of chicken fajitas (twins had cheese enchiladas),
the twin-watching entertainment moved outside. Claire examines a real tree. She had a hat, but tossed it off after getting off the swing.
Jake kept his hat on for awhile. I had put their coats on them before, but I never realized there was a "boy" coat and a "girl" coat til Mimi and Jennifer pointed out the style differences and the way the buttons went. Also the two hats were different.
Jake managed to navigate his way across the yard and uneven grass.

Claire and Jake were engrossed by something in the grass. But Claire still gave Jake a hug when prompted by her Daddy.

Back inside, the twins got to open a present from JanMa. First came the close-up examination of the present.
Claire tested her balance skills by climbing and standing on it.

Then the big event, unwrapping the present.

Finally, the twins show that they know what a table is for. Jennifer served them water and Goldfish snacks for their first indoor picnic.

We'll have one more twin visit before Christmas, then they will be off to visit other grandparents for Christmas Day, and Mimi and I will be in Dallas with other family members.
