Taylor and John visit JanMa

Last weekend, Taylor and John came with their parents to visit JanMa.  We spent hours in the pool and I had a great time!
On Saturday, the twins joined their cousins for pool time and lunch.

Taylor enjoyed her popsicle a lot.
Here is a video of Jason jumping into the pool with John and Claire, then Taylor.  Uncle Jeremy got into the fun with various kids until both Jase and Jeremy were worn out.  After a break, they then tossed the kids up into the air, catching them as they splashed back down into the water.  When Claire woke up from her nap later that day, the first thing she wanted to know is where was Uncle Jason.

The kids visited Mimi to see her new house.
Jason walks with John at CHS football field.

Taylor is quite taken with the artificial turf!

Here is a video of John and Taylor running up and down the football field.  This was early, about 8:30 in the morning, and we went straight from the field to JanMa's pool to swim and cool off.

Here are Jake and Claire riding ponies on vacation at a resort.  Claire looks a little intimidated, while Jake seems to be quite comfortable.

John and Taylor visited a creek close to their house last week.  John kept his eye out for pirates while Taylor played Creek Fairy.

These 4 little tykes are so precious to me, I don't want to miss a minute!

Summer Fun

I spent a few hours playing with the twins one afternoon before Mommy and Daddy got home.  I like to go over later in the afternoon, after naptime, and let the nanny take off and have some twins and me time just the 3 of us.  We splashed in the wading pool, wrapped up in towels and had snacks, then went inside and danced to Toddler Tunes on TV.  I am trying to teach them to play freeze tag, red light/green light, mother-may-I.  Remember those?

Claire likes to water the flowers, even though it must have rained 5 inches that morning!
Here Claire waters flowers and talks about thunder and rain,  then she mentions Mommy and Daddy and the zoo, elephants, monkeys and zebras.  Then she says she saw dolphins, and finally she explains she went to the Aquarium on their trip to Galveston.

The twins came to visit at Mimi's house last Saturday night, then we all went to dinner.

When your sister gives you a hug, what's a guy to do?

  Hug her back!
John and Taylor are having fun in their town too.  Here are a few pictures of their splash park activities. John likes to do stuff with Taylor, and keeps an eye out for her.

Taylor is an angel, or at least a fairy with pink wings!

He truly is a superhero!

This is as close as Tipper the cat gets to water activities!

4th of July week

The weekend before July 4 I spent some time with Bill and grandson William.  He is smart and you can just see his mind churning and thinking and figuring things out.

He likes to stack the blocks, then watch them fall over, like any kid - boy or girl!
Drinking out of a glass is one of his new favorite things to do, at home or in a restaurant.  The video below shows several of William's fun things to do, including making sweet eyes!

We had some sudden wind and rain storms last weekend that showered the courtyard with pink flowers, pretty picture.  Note the rain past the brick wall of the courtyard.

I made a quick visit to the twins, Jake shows off his new guitar.  He seems to naturally pick it up to play left-handed.

July 4 found us enjoying JanMa's pool...
after being slathered with sunscreen...

while the great-grandmothers looked on.

Jake enjoyed eating corn on the cob.
Claire brought CindyLou to Mimi for some nurturing.
I had fun.  Claire told me she didn't want to go home.  I told her JanMa was going to take a nap.  She was willing to take a nap with me!  So sweet, but she went home anyway.
