Mimi had everyone over for a pizza party one evening.

Jason explains the importance of spring scrimmage game for Conroe Tigers.
Claire and Taylor played with JanMa's old baby doll, Cindy Lou, recently returned from the doll hospital where she got a complete new skin and innards, to the tune of $150! But over 60 years, it averages out to a little over $2 per year TCO (total cost of ownership).
Taylor shows Mimi how to put the puzzle together.
Mother's Day lunch at Pappadeaux's in the Woodlands.
The very next weekend I made a trip to Dallas with Bill. While he was in training, I made several visits with the kids. We went out to dinner at Watter's Creek, a collection of restaurants, movies, shops, condos with a creek that runs through it.
John and Taylor climbed on some of the sculptures that decorate the park area.
Outdoor dining, John has a chicken nugget in one hand and pizza in the other,
a true two-fisted eating technique.
Jason walks the kids down to the creek.
The next day Ashley took me and the kids to a park/preserve area. Amazing, so quiet and peaceful right in the middle of Plano.
Taylor climbs the ladder to the playground equipment.
John uses the climbing wall to get up there.
Back at JanMa's, the solar rings fill the pool in an attempt to warm it up quicker.
The rings work somewhat, the water temp is 85, and although it still feels coolish when getting in on a hot day, it is warmer than it would have been without the rings. I have actually been in almost every day this week. (Last week in May) Jake and Claire are OK with it.
I also got a new floor in May, on a Tuesday. This is what the old floor looked like that morning before removal. Carpet in the living and dining room, nearly 20 years old but still in good shape, if you didn't count 20 years of dust and debris settling down into the fibers!
Here is what the new floor looked like that evening, after the installation was complete.
Unfortunately, the very next day, Wednesday, a water supply line to the upstairs toilet cracked, pouring water onto the bathroom floor. The water then ran down the wall and onto the ceiling of the breakfast room below. It seeped through and put 3 inches of water onto the new floor in the kitchen, dining and living rooms. The new floor, which is a vinyl plank product (Karndean manufacturer) is in great shape. Only 2 planks need to be glued back down, and that is mostly because it had just been laid the day before and the water seeped under and loosened the glue. But the baseboards, ceiling and back wall, back door, and other trim that got wet will have to be replaced. Hopefully that work will start soon, I have the insurance adjuster's check and am getting estimates from the floor guy and the contractor. But if you are ever thinking about a new floor and want a wood look-alike, this Karndean vinyl plank product is terrific.
